Initiatives & Innovation

If I have learned one thing about technology value in the past decade it is that user experience design matters. Any new experience is a great experience, regardless of whether or not it sees the light of day. I still have a great project to showcase in my portfolio. I'm passionate about Initiatives & Innovation.

Be it to get start a game, event or a new feature in the product, I'm always enthusiastic about.

  • Mobile - Native App

If we truly wanted to make a difference in the workplace we need to provide solutions that would make the customers life easy.

With this thought I proposed a mobile app of the existing product to the management. I build the App using PhoneGap and Dreamwear for Android. HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery was used for font-end, with a bit of knowledge of coding I could host the web services on the cloud and communicate the native app to fetch the data and write it back to the server.

The app was highly appreciated and now we developed an IOS app for the customers.

    Mobile - Web App

The future of the web is mobile. More and more consumers will access data and information via smartphones, tablets and other portable devices. So businesses need to prepare their presences on the mobile web.

This was one of the initiatives that I had proposed to the management. A whole new platform, the mobile application for the customers on a move.

This is a platform concept, based around elegantly simple and clean design. This app reports user and role violations. I focused on a clean iOS7 style and let the information do the talking.

  • Dashboard

With more and more businesses realizing the value of data visualization for deriving critical business insights, hitting on the real user needs and address the usability of dashboard specific to business & operational objectives. I created a dashboard for Role-based and Personalized Information Access (Specific to Business Role) with guided analytics (KPIs).

The idea was to make it more usable. The two most significant features are 'Actionable' and 'Easy management'. Other than that the dashboard has drill-down capabilities to look at more granular data if needed.

    Design Lab

Working for a product company is really rewarding, you get to learn more. You can also contribute your ideas and experience.

With an idea to get a place dedicated to bringing user-centered design (UCD) practices to our applications I proposed a design lab for the company. The lab with passionate user experience designers, user research professionals, enthusiastic developers and quality engineers who would define and build components repository to support the core development team.

The process change would save 30% time of the UI development phase. As the components are tested and approved by QA there would be very less rework, which would further help for a quick release.

  • Rule builder

The problem that I had to solve was to allow the users to quickly and easily build business rules to monitor the user's action in the application.

Before starting the design I spent a lot of time discussing with business owners. After that I wire-framed lot on the note pad and white paper. This helped me get ideas in a quick and dirty fashion so I could discuss the design again.

Inspired from Microsoft Visual Studio I came up with an offline /online concept what was highly appreciated by the management.

IDEAS - my though my ideas

Thought behind this ‘IDEAS’ application was to capture the ideas and suggestions of the employees.

The Idea/ suggestion that are published can be reviewed and rated by all the privilege users. Management can discuss the idea and take it to the next level.

Now!, no idea is lost even if the employee quits the organization. The Idea once captured will be available to the management for all time.

  • UX/ Usability awareness

As an UX practitioner we need to take the role of a salesperson, a teacher, and a soldier in the UX revolution.

It's my passion for the UX that drives me to spread awareness among colleagues and friends. Whenever I get the opportunity I never let it go, be it on the coffee table or in the conference room I always emphasises on the important of user experience and usability.

As a result I could observe the change in the approach and the product got better.

    Extra Punch

I was one of the core founder of this employee's e-magazine, our idea was to bring out the talent of employees rather than the company matrix. We roped-in some of the talented folks we knew and formed a team of four.

As Extra Punch publication was initiated to bring-out the talent of employees. We interviewed one talent (star performer) for every publication which was set to publish every fortnight. Employees also send us their cooking recipes, art works and more.

This was a BIG success. Employees started contributing and sending us the feedback which gave us the drive to come-up with best of their interest.

  • Soccer Club

I simply love the game, everywhere I went I managed to evoke interest in this sport and pull people to the ground.

To keep one motivated and energetic we need to play a team sport that's what I believe; I chose soccer to do it for me, my friends and colleagues.
